"I want to stay up late"

Update from Chipmunk Land...

Hey; It's me again. I semi-look like a chipmunk again. It's almost exactly like it was, except on the other side.

Anyways, I just wrote an intriguing logic lesson on my facebook: http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=41342977395

Hope you enjoy. :)

Wow

I guess my daughter (Tamara Dawn) made a video of her college class. I think her grade goes up the more people view it. She is the one with brown hair right in front of the camera. She is in Ventura County in California. Thought you folks would like to see what she looks like.

PTI... don't worry the Sports Guys will understand...

Sorry to interrupt all the Thanksgiving talk, however I thought this would be an indiscreet place to let mom know that I sent her an email with some (very little actually) information regarding events taking place about a week or two after the one being discussed. I wasn't sure if you still used your hotmail email so I thought I'd check your profile, to no avail, anyway, that is where I sent my message. Let me know if you got it. And sorry I missed your call last night, I sometimes leave my computer & skype on overnight... Aaron too, saw that you called. Once again it is time to pass out and wonder what exciting things I won't be doing tomorrow.

Happy Thanksgiving

Change in Thanksgiving time- PLEASE NOTE!!

We've been asked to have our Thanksgiving feast at 12 noon, rather than 1 PM so that Jeremiah can enjoy 2 holiday feasts in the same day without ill effects! LOL!!!

So, let us know that: A. you received this info

and
B: RSVP so we will have the right amount of food, plates, etc.

So, just in case I'm not busy enough...

I've started to sell Lia Sophia jewelry! Yay! (I think). Does anyone know anyone who would be willing to host a begining show for me? (Preferably in state- sorry). It would be greatly appreciated. Life here at the Howlett home is normal- going to school, working at the temple, teaching primary, going to paying work, and trying to have a life- okay so maybe not the last part. I'm begining to think that I need to step outside of the box and meet new people. Weird. That's it for now.

tom's deployment

i'll either end up deleting or editing this post if my information is wrong or if it's something i'm not allowed to say(i'm pretty sure i am allowed though). it's looking like around december 2nd. 9 days sooner than what i had previously thought and about 29 days sooner than i had originally hoped for. i feel like i got punched in the stomach on that one, since i am literally feeling sick to my stomach.

probably the last time off he gets before the deployment is thanksgiving--he gets 96 hrs(wednesday thru saturday night, and heads down sunday morning).

he may or may not be able to come home this weekend because of a scheduling issue with the navy, and tom's not told anything until the very last minute.

Jared- Day 2

Can you tell which side the wisdom teeth were taken out of?? Day 2- he says his skin feels "stretched out and that's why it's sore!"

any advice?

so..here's my problem. and yes, i know you're all thinking of the irony of this situation. collin has no problem keeping his bed dry at night, in fact we were really suprised about that when he got potty-trained a couple months ago. ivy on the otherhand..she used to get herself up during the night to take herself to go potty during the night. i have no clue what happened, now she just sleeps thru it. she's too big for diapers..i take it back, they make a bigger size, but i don't want to buy them since she turns 6 next month. i don't want to do pull-ups or some variation of pull-ups. but i am getting tired of washing her covers at least 5-6 times in the last 4 days.(the kids only have 1 extra set of sheets for each of their beds)

any ideas? when i try to limit her fluid intake around dinner, she seems to have bigger accidents within a couple hours of going to bed even if i have her go potty beforehand. in the meantime, when she gets up(sometimes the middle of the night), i'm having her put the wet things into the laundry basket to get her to help out, but also to try to discourage her from doing it again.

Chipmunk takes over...

Align Center
Here I was minding my own business when I discovered that a chipmunk had taken residence in half of my face in the mirror. I couldn't believe my eyes when Mom took a picture and I looked at it.

(3 out, 2 to go; Evidently, the Dr. didn't think all 5 should be gotten out all at once. So, in a couple weeks, I'll get the other 2 out.)

Sorry t.

Ok, I didn't think we'd run into any issues, but I went ahead and changed the settings so that only members of the blog can post comments.

Remember, Remember...

I found it ironic today, the 5th of November, was the first day of the the USSA (United Socialist States of America). A day already marked in infamy by a Brit by the name of Guy Fawkes. As we were all talking about our opinions of our new "Commander in Chief" the poem was mentioned...
“Remember, remember the fifth of November,
The gunpowder, treason and plot,
I know of no reason
Why the gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.”

Followed by...

"O England praise the name of God
That kept thee from this heavy rod!
But though this demon e'er be gone,
his evil now be ours upon!"
Check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes for more on his life and ideas

I think it interesting that other great men of 'vision' also had struggles with the dilemma now facing our once great nation. The Founding Fathers were by definition Traitors to the Crown as was another revolutionary named William Wallace. All were discontent with their supposed 'leadership' and wished for a more peaceful resolution to their representation or lack thereof with those who directed their respective nations with regard to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. I also reflected on and am beginning to reread the Book of Alma. As Latter-day Saints I have often heard the question of "Why is the book of Alma so important to us in these latter-days?" Prior to and early in my military endeavors it was suggested that I read in Alma 43 & 45 where in ch. 43 vs. 47 it says...

And again, the Lord has said that: Ye shall adefend your families even unto bbloodshed. Therefore for this cause were the Nephites contending with the Lamanites, to defend themselves, and their families, and their lands, their country, and their rights, and their religion.
I feel that now more than ever the book of Alma has more meaning in our lives as a guide on how we can lead our families and direct our lives as we go forward in this time of wars, rumors of wars and the beginning of the reign of kings and judges. If you don't believe that we will so soon be living in the reign of kings and judges, just wait for the first Supreme Court Justice to pass away and the new 'Dictator for Life' Obama appoints his choice to create a Legislative Superpower. It just leaves me with the question... Are we at the top of the "Book of Mormon" cycle of Pride -> Compelled Humility -> Righteousness or are we at the bottom?

Love you all, be home soon,

Jon

Thanksgiving dinner- Our house- 1 pm- Y'all come!!

just a quick reminder- Family Thanksgiving at our house at 1 PM on Thanksgiving- Deanna & Jeremiah are coming to town too! Hope to see you all there! Anyone want to bring anything??

I know Aaron would love it if Jeremiah would bring his sweet potatoes- he knows I don't do sweet potatoes well! Or maybe, Jeremiah, you could teach someone else how to make them.

Please let Dad & me know if you're coming just so we can plan how much turkey, etc. It's been a while since we've had a family dinner and we are really looking forward to everyone coming!

Jared's having "fun" tomorrow!! Wisdom teeth!!

Tomorrow, (Thursday) morning, Jared is having all 4 wisdom teeth pulled! His missionary dental report is signed and filled out by our family dentist but he has to have the wisdom teeth out! Alisa was the only one of our missionaries to miss out on that "fun" time!

But, wait, that's not all---- he also has one of his 3rd molars (wisdom teeth are the 4th molars)that is laying horizontally to his gum and also has to come out. So he's getting a "too-fer" (get my pun??)Actually a five-fer!! Poor guy! You might think about wishing him well on his facebook or here or on his e-mail.

I'm taking the ice cream bucket along on the trip to the oral surgeon. (Thanks again, Jon and Jenn for that brilliant idea---we've used it more times than we hoped we would? )

Voting day is over, and all is well

just to let everyone know, prop 8 (amending the state constitution so only a marriage between a man & woman is legal & the only kind recognized by the state) won 52% to 48%. to be honest, i didn't care as much for who to elect for president as this issue.

you'll notice, not many counties had the majority vote be "no"(the lime green color).

http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/county/#CAI01map

the similar propisitions in arizona & florida passed too. florida needed 60% in favor, and i think they passed with 62%. arizona had 56%.

hopefully this will start a trend for the rest of the nation.

Baby Lewis

Last weekend Rhonda had a 3D ultrasound done. Baby Lewis is going to be a boy.
